When line locating helps
- Pinpointing a problem found on camera. A CCTV inspection shows what is wrong; locating shows exactly where it is on your property.
- Tracing where an old sewer line runs, when nobody has the plans any more.
- Finding manholes that have been paved or built over.
- Planning building work, so the line isn't damaged by a foundation or a pool.
How it works
- Into the line. We feed the camera in through an existing access point, with a transmitter at the head.
- Trace from above. A receiver above ground follows the transmitter, so we can walk the route of the pipe across the property.
- Mark it. We mark the position on the surface and note the depth, so digging starts in the right place.
Why it saves money
Every metre of paving, lawn or driveway opened up in the wrong place costs money to break out and to lay back. Locating the line first keeps that to one section.
