CCTV drain camera inspections & line location

When a sewer line keeps giving problems, a camera shows exactly what's wrong and where it is, so repairs are targeted instead of guesswork.

CCTV drain camera being fed into a sewer line for inspection

How it works

We feed our self-levelling colour CCTV camera through the line from an existing access point and watch the live picture as it travels. That lets us examine the pipe for breaks, cracks, roots, collapsed or sagging sections and build-up.

Because we know how far along the line the camera is, we can also locate the problem on your property and trace where the pipe runs. That means digging only where it's actually needed.

When to book a camera inspection

  • A drain that keeps blocking, even after it's been cleared.
  • A suspected broken, cracked or collapsed pipe.
  • Roots that may be growing into the sewer line.
  • Wet patches, sinking ground or bad smells in the garden.
  • Before deciding on repairs, so you only fix what's actually broken.

After the inspection

We explain what we found and what it will take to fix: clearing the line with hydro-jetting, a spot repair, or replacing a section of pipe. Our vehicles carry most parts and fittings, so many repairs can be done on the same visit.

FAQ

CCTV drain inspections: common questions

Do you need to dig to do an inspection?

No. The camera goes in through existing access points such as gullies, rodding eyes and manholes.

Can you find where the pipe runs?

Yes. Along with camera inspections we offer line location, so we can show where the pipe runs and where the problem is before any digging starts.

Why not just clear the drain again?

If a drain keeps blocking, something is causing it. Clearing it again treats the symptom. A camera inspection finds the cause so it can be fixed properly.
